CONVEYANCE TAX
Tax levied on transferring a real property from a seller to a buyer at the state or municipal level. In general, it is expressed as a percentage of the sale price. A property transferred for free or sold for a very low amount may be exempt from conveyance tax although estate transfer taxes may be applied.
