DRIVER
Any item that can materially influence either a firm’s earnings or the stock’s price. Each company has its own distinct drivers including new financing, legislation, competitors’ activities, new financing, release of a new product or service, commodity or resource prices, and prospects of a specific company division. Stock drivers have no pure quantitative measurement units, but more qualitative in nature.
