EDOUARD MICHELIN
Former President and Chief Executive Officer of Groupe Michelin, French tire manufacturer and map, and guidebook firm. When his father, Francois, retired in 1999, he took over the company. During his tenure, the firm became the market leader in tires following the Bridgestone/Firestone tire defect series. Michelin also made a controversial decision to reduce thousands of jobs although it experienced record profits, as well as administered specialized production in the company’s plants.
