ELINOR OSTROM
American political economist and political scientist who received the 2009 Nobel Memorial Prize in Economics, along with American economist and professor Oliver Williamson. Being the first woman to earn this recognition, and being the only woman to win The Prize in Economics to date, Ostrom’s research assessed economic governance, focusing on the commons.
