EQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY COMMISSION - EEOC

Agency in the United States responsible for enforcing federal laws on discrimination against a job applicant or employee because of an individual’s race, religion, color, sex (including pregnancy), age, national origin, genetic information, or disability. They are authorized to investigate discrimination claims against employers encompassed under the law. It also aims to prevent discrimination before it can appear through education and technical assistance programs. Situated in Washington, D.C., EEOC has 53 field offices across the country. It was formed by the US Congress to execute Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
