EQUITY MULTIPLIER
Ratio of a firm’s total assets to its shareholder’s equity, which determines the company’s financial leverage. Firms fund the purchase of assets either through debt or equity, thus, a high equity multiplier denotes a bigger portion of asset financing is done via debt. The multiplier is a variation of the debt ratio.
