EQUITY METHOD
Accounting technique in evaluating the profits derived from a firm’s investment in other companies, which it has substantial influence. The company lists down the income earned on the investment in its income statement and the written value is based on its share of the firm assets. That profit is proportionate to the size of the equity investment.
