EXCESS CRUDE ACCOUNT
Nigerian government account used to save oil revenues above the base amount derived from a set benchmark price. Established in 2004, it aims to primarily guard the country against shortfalls due to volatile crude oil prices. By not linking government expenditures from oil revenues, it insulates the country from severe price shocks.
