EXCHANGE PRIVILEGE
Opportunity offered to some mutual fund shareholders in which they can exchange their investment in a fund for another within the same fund family and no additional cost. It allows investors the switch when market conditions change. In the United States, the Internal Revenue Service considers this as a sale and purchase for tax.
