EXPATRIATION TAX
Tax applicable to American citizens who have renounced their citizenship and to long-term residents who have concluded their US resident status for federal tax. This provision is stated in Section 877 and Section 877A of the Internal Revenue Code (IRC). Based on the date a US citizen expatriated, different rules apply.
