GIFTED STOCK
Stocks given from an individual or entity to another person or entity. It excludes equities either received from a spouse or through an inheritance from a descendent. In tax, the cost of the stock is the original donor’s cost upon acquiring those and capital gains taxes will have to be paid according to the original purchase amount.
