GOOD FAITH ESTIMATE
Written estimate of the fees due at closing for a mortgage loan. A lender must provide the estimate to the borrower within three days of the lender getting the loan application. In the United States, the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA) mandates this estimate. While it is standardized throughout the industry to allow borrowers compare costs between lenders, this is only an estimate. The estimate may differ from the actual figure.
