GROSS MARGIN
Firm’s sum of sales revenue less its cost of goods sold, divided by the total sales revenue. It shows the percentage of the total sales revenue the firm retains after incurring direct costs connected to producing goods and services being sold. The greater the percentage, the more the firm retains on every dollar of sales to fulfill other expenses and obligations.
