GUARANTEED STOCK
Infrequently used common or preferred stock guaranteed by a third party. Since these are guaranteed, investors in general are willing to pay a higher amount for the stock than the ones not backed up by a guarantee. The guaranteed dividend can raise the stock’s price. Sometimes, railroads and public utilities issue this stock. It can also pertain to commonly purchased items a firm keeps a supply of for customers to acquire.
