IMBALANCE OF ORDERS
Situation in which an exchange receives too many, unequal orders of one kind either buy, sell, or limit, for listed securities. It usually follows a drastic occurrence such as a takeover, death of a key executive, research recommendation, or any government ruling that significantly impact the firm’s business. Also called order imbalance.
