INCENTIVE FEE
Fee paid to a fund manager or general partner of a hedge fund by investors. Fees vary depending on the manager’s performance over a specific period and normally taken relative to a benchmark index. Usually, these fees are in place to match a manager’s compensation to their performance level, specifically the level of financial return. Also known as incentive fee.
