Intangibles with commercial value that is owned and legally protected by a corporation from outside use or implementation without permission. Intellectual property can be knowledge, patents, creative ideas, trade secrets, copyrights and trademarks, and the like. This concept relates to the fact some products of human mind should have the same protective rights like in physical property. Most developed economies have legal measures to safeguard both forms of property.
