INTERCHANGE RATE
Fee charged by banks to compensate the cost of handling and credit risk in a bank credit or debit card transaction. Usually, these fees are paid to the bank that funds a transaction, hence, incurring a risk. It is computed according to authorization costs, average bank cost of funds, and losses due to fraud and credit. Interchange rate is revised regularly.
