INTEREST RATE SENSITIVITY
A gauge of how a fixed-income asset’s price will fluctuate as an outcome of interest rate changes. Securities that are more vulnerable will endure higher price fluctuations than those that are less sensitive. An asset’s sensitivity must be taken into account in choosing a bond or fixed-income instrument the investor may trade in the secondary market.
