INTERNAL CAPITAL GENERATION RATE - ICGR
Quantifiable mathematical rate that displays banks can generate equity capital. This is computed by dividing the bank’s retained earnings by the average balance of all stockholders’ combined equity for the given accounting period. To get the bank’s retained earnings, subtract dividends paid from net income. A high ICGR escalates profitability and indicates the bank has additional capital for loans.
