IRS PUBLICATION 505
A document that explains the process for withholding and estimated tax individuals must follow to settle their taxes. Usually, employees have taxes withheld from their paychecks. Workers without taxes withheld from their income, because of employment status or for another reason, will have to pay estimated taxes over the course of the year, otherwise they may have to pay the penalty for every payment period.
