KIASU
A person is anxious of losing out to someone else. It is a traditional Chinese word that means "scared to lose" but is well-known in Singapore.
The general idea of this adjective is to outdo and outshines all people, have more of any given thing, get the best deals by paying a small amount, and be the first or best all the time. It describes a person who is greedy, not willing to share anything, or always competing in order to advance one’s self.
