LEADERSHIP GRID

A situational leadership that has determined five leadership styles from two behavioral dimensions: concern for production and concern for people. The model, which was formed by Robert Blake and Jane Mouton in 1950s, is based on Theory Y.

Here are the five leadership styles in the model, both on a scale from one to nine: Impoverished (1,1); Dictatorial (9,1); Status Quo (5,5); Country Club (1, 9); and Sound (9, 9). The model suggests the high degree of concern for both people and production can upheave the productivity of an employee.
