Measuring money supply, which adds up all physical currency in circulation, money market mutual funds, savings accounts, small time deposits, and non-interest bearing bank deposits. These are less liquid and not that suitable as exchange medium but can easily be converted in a cash or checking deposit. This is a key indicator used in predicting inflation.
