M1
Measuring money supply that combines all physical currency in circulation, demand deposits, current (checking) accounts, deposit accounts transferrable by checks, automatic transfer service accounts, Negotiable Order of Withdrawal (NOW) accounts, balances in credit unions, and traveler's checks. This measures most liquid components of the money supply. Unlike M2 and M3, it does not have "near money", or "near, near money".
