MAC CRAWFORD
Co-founder and Principal of Crawford Spalding Group, a business advisory and management services company formed in 2008. He is also a Partner in Crawford-Ross, a venture made in July 2010 to co-invest in healthcare companies. The company’s services was known for Crawford’s experience on turning around struggling companies. He was named as the Best Chief Executive Officer in Healthcare Technology and Distribution in 2005, 2006, and 2007 by Institutional Investor.
Prior to founding Crawford Spalding Group, he became the former Chief Executive Officer, President, and Chairman of Caremark Rx Inc. from 1998 to 2007, a Nashville-based mail order pharmaceutical and pharmacy benefits management company. During his stint in Caremark, he increased the company’s revenue, paid off its debt, and helped in obtaining rival AdvancePCS. In 2007, Caremark merged with pharmacy CVS to become part of the Fortune 20 company CVSCaremark.
Mac, to friends and colleagues, started his career as a Certified Public Accountant at Arthur Young & Company in 1971. He has held key positions in the following public and private companies: Chief Financial Officer of GTI and Oxylance in 1981 and 1985, respectively; President of Mulberry Street Investment Company in 1986; Chairman, CEO, and President of Charter Medical Corp.; and CEO and President of Magellan Health Services.
