MAGNA CUM LAUDE
One level below summa cum laude; Latin phrase for "with great honor" or "with high honors". This is the second highest level of academic excellence being used by educational institutions. Also, it is one of the three commonly used Latin honors that is recognized in the United States of America. Guidelines in achieving Latin honors differ among academic institutions. Although common in the United States, very few countries in the world use this honor system.
