MANAGEMENT RISK
The risk of a loss because of destructive, ineffective or underperforming management, hurting the shareholders and the company or fund being managed. It refers to the risk of the situation the company and the shareholders would have been better off without the risky choices the management made. Oftentimes, company managers will put their own interests over those of the company and shareholders.
