MEDICAL SAVINGS ACCOUNT - MSA
A medical plan that combines high-deductible medical insurance protection with a tax-deferred savings account. This can be offered to employees as part of their benefits package. The account is designed to help workers pay for medical and healthcare expenses by letting them save for these expenses in a tax-guarded environment. Employees pay healthcare expenses from this account up to the amount of the insurance deductible.
Also called Archer medical savings accounts or Archer MSAs.
