NASDAQ GLOBAL MARKET COMPOSITE
Formed in July 2006, when the Nasdaq National Market, established in 1984 was divided into two tiers, named Nasdaq Global Market and Nasdaq Global Select Market. The change was unimportant, as it did not affect the listing standards, but rather was intended to reflect the global scope of the index and the companies listed on it.
