NEGATIVE INCOME TAX - NIT
It was promoted in 1962 by economist Milton Friedman in which federal income subsidies are offered to individuals or families whose income falls below a specific level. It allows claimants to get income by simple filing of tax returns instead of claiming of welfare benefits.
