OFFSHORE MUTUAL FUND

It is a type of mutual fund that is based in an outside jurisdiction. It is generally outside the U.S. Offshore funds provide a number of features that differentiate them from those domiciled in the United States, as a lower level of regulation makes it easier to create and manage the funds. Thus, operating costs are cheaper and management fees may be lower. Tax exempt status allows the fund to reinvest gains that would then be taxable in high-tax areas.
