PENSION MAXIMIZATION
This is used by a married couple who purchases single life annuity for the older spouse and a joint life annuity for both of them. In case the younger spouse dies first, the older spouse may continue to benefit from both annuities. When the older spouse dies first, the young spouse uses the death benefit from the single life annuity to buy another single life annuity.
