A strategy in which a trader quickly enters and withdraws large orders attempting to flood the market with quotes which competitors need to process, therefore making them lose their competitive edge in high frequency trading. Market makers and other big players are only capable of executing these kinds of tactics as they require a direct link to the exchange to be effective.
