SEQUESTRATION
Sequestration is also referred to as ‘the sequester’. It is a fiscal policy process that reduces the federal budget in all agencies and departments of the government automatically. It is a term adopted by the Congress for the process where across-the-board spending cuts automatically take effect in the event that the Congress fails to reach an agreement on a deficit-reducing budget prior the given date.
