SEVERANCE PAY
Severance Pay is the compensation given to an employee that has ended his or her tenure with a company. Generally, a severance pay is worth one to two weeks of pay per year of the employees tenureship. Meanwhile, an executive may receive up to a month’s pay per year of the executive’s tenureship. The severance pay is usually included in the employment contract. Also, severance pays sometimes come with severance packages that include all kinds of benefits from medical insurance to outplacement assistance.
