SHORT INTEREST
Short Interest is the number of stocks that was sold short by investors but was not yet closed out or covered. It is a market-sentiment indicator that shows if an investor believes the price of stock will likely drop. Comparison of short interest can show the changes in sentiment of an investor over time. The purpose of short interest is for the forecast of the direction that a stock will take. It also gauges the bullishness and bearishness of the sentiment of investor toward the market.
