SHORT REFINANCE
Short Refinance is the refinancing of a mortgage for the payments of a borrower in default. The refinancing is made by the lender to avoid foreclosure. Usually, the the existing loan is more than the new loan amount and the difference is ignored by the lender. A lender is willing to do this due to the fact that it is more cost effective than foreclosure proceedings.
