SILVER STANDARD
Silver standard is is a monetary system wherein the government of a particular country permits the free conversion of the country into silver that has fixed amounts. This also works for the vice-versa. In a silver standard, the economic difference for a fixed amount of silver is the determinant of what the exchange rate for the two countries will be. The silver standard was short-lived and was abandoned in the the early years of the 20th century.
