Social responsibility is responsibility of an organization to the society. There is a notion that companies were created to maximize profits however the idea of social responsibility has long ago established that maximizing profits should be done with the social impacts in mind. Social responsibilities include the establishment of a positive relationship with the society and the community where they operate.
