STRUCTURAL UNEMPLOYMENT
Longer-lasting unemployment caused by fundamental economic changes. It occurs due to numerous reasons: individuals lack the requisite job skills or live far from regions where jobs are available but cannot move there. Or they may be unwilling to work because the prevailing wage levels are too low. Technology, government policy, and competition are some of the factors that worsen structural unemployment.
