SUBSTANTIALLY IDENTICAL SECURITY
Security fundamentally identical to another, which includes both old and new securities released by a company that underwent reorganization. Convertible securities and common stock of the similar firm are also considered substantially identical security if its market and conversation prices are the same. Such securities cannot be used in tax swaps to generate capital losses.
