SYNTHETIC ETF
Security mimicking an exchange-traded fund using derivatives including swaps, which normally trails an index or a sector group of companies. Its proponents postulate the investment is doing a more precise job of tracking indexes. However, its critics view the security as too complicated for investors and believe it is not transparent.
