TANDEM PLAN
Mortgage purchase program providing financing assistance to builders and developers of nonprofit public housing. Subsidized by the US government, the Government National Mortgage Association acquires mortgages at a discounted market price, then sells these mortgages through the Federal National Mortgage Association and the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation. The plan takes the difference between the buying and selling price of the purchased mortgages.
