TECHNICAL INDICATOR
Any tool or metric used for gauging and interpreting the overall market behavior by looking at the number of shares traded, previous patterns, ratio of increasing and decreasing stocks, and the number of stocks making a new high or low. It aims to predict future price levels or the overall price director. Bollinger Bands®, MACD, Money Flow Index, Relative Strength Index, and Stochastics are some examples of common technical indicators.
