TERMINATION EVENT
Occurrence causing all or portion of a swap agreement to terminate early. Events include legal or regulatory changes preventing one or both parties from adhering to the contract terms, placing a withholding tax on the transaction, or reducing a counterparty’s creditworthiness. It can also relate to business agreements between several parties. In the event one of the parties take an inappropriate action, this may serve as a termination even for the partnership.
