THOMAS ROWE PRICE JR.
Founder of T. Rowe Price Associates, Inc., Baltimore-based investment management firm established in 1937. Considered the father of growth investing, he became popular for developing growth-style investing style. He was also a firm believer of acquiring well-managed companies that pay dividends, which were expected to escalate at a higher rate than inflation, as well as of portfolio diversification. In 1971, he sold his company to his own employees.
