TOP HAT PLAN
Retirement plan limited to a selected group of employees, normally key executives. Unlike a standard retirement plan, this type of plan does not usually offer the same tax benefits of an opt-in plan and not every employee can participate in the plan. Top hat plan has two types: nonqualified deferred compensation plan and supplemental executive retirement plan.
