TRADE DATE
Day a transaction occurs in the market. Transaction includes purchasing, selling, or acquiring a security, which is applicable to the purchase, sell, or transfer of bonds, equities, currencies, commodities, and futures. In some instances, the trade date is recorded on the previous day if the order is executed very early; or on the following day if done very late.
