UNDERWATER
Underwater refers to an option, either call or put option, that would be considered worthless if its expiration is today. Specifically, a call option is said to be underwater if the strike price is higher than the underlying asset’s market price. Meanwhile, a put option is considered to be underwater if the strike price is lower than the market price.
